I heard about the hypergrowth that Pinboard experienced due to the mass migration of users from Delicious, and wanted to get his perspective on how he had managed the huge spike in traffic and new users, and to find out more about how he managed the site.
I’ve long been a believer that you have to be prepared to scale, even if it’s not your plan to grow so large or so fast. One day, someone will notice your service, or you’ll be in a news story, or you will have an “opportunity” to take new load from a competitor.
