New LOPSA Org Chart available

Having now been a Board member for officially six months, I've got to say, it's definitely a strange creature.

It's not that the organization is big so much as it's diverse, and spread out, and right now, largely undocumented. That should not be meant to imply that there is no documentation, though. The early founders of the organization created  a veritable cornucopia of documentation. Practically everything they did was documented, which means that for someone going back and doing archaeology, there's so much to dig through.

In "modern LOPSA", though, we've been less faithful in the documentation of everything that's going on in the organization, and a big challenge has been just figuring out what the currently-moving parts are.

Partially because it's best practice in a company, and partially to keep my own sanity, I started an organizational chart for LOPSA, and with the help of my fellow directors, we've got it to what may be a reasonably current state. To keep with the concept of openness and transparency, we've made it available on the webpage to members only. If you're interested, you should login to lopsa.org and click "Organizational Chart" under "About LOPSA".

You can also click this thumbnail preview, which is tiny enough that it's illegible.

Lots of people have been interested in the software that I used to create this. The software is, regrettably, Mac-only, and is called OmniGraffle. I do like the software very much, and since I use a Mac, it's a good solution for me. If you use a Mac, check out the free time-limited trial. You might like it, too.
