Wow! I taught at USENIX.

Long-time dream come true, I’ve taught a class at a USENIX conference.

My initial sysadmin training consisted of on-the-job-training at EarthLink plus at least 1 conference a year (USENIX and/or LISA). That was the culture at EarthLink, you just HAD to go to USENIX conferences to be a professional sys admin.

I used to say to myself, one day I’ll come far enough along in my career that I’ll be able to *teach* one of these classes.

Well that day has come and gone. I taught a course on my favorite subject, automating configuration management. A full day class on Cfengine, complete with practical examples.

I’m privileged to be part of the USENIX community.
