When I taught at SCaLE U back in February, I promised my students that I’d post my presentation notes on lopsa.org — a promise I forgot until reminded just recently (thanks, Brad!). So without further ado, I’ve attached PDFs of my slides.
A lot has changed in the world of Fedora DS since these slides. Version 1.2.0 was released, fixing a bug I mention, adding the remove-ds[-admin.pl]
script for removing FDS instances, adding many more schemas, and incorporating other miscellaneous changes. Additionally, the name was changed from Fedora DS to 389. Most of the presentation remains entirely relevant, though.
Not much has changed in the world of documentation since February. SysAdmins everywhere know they need to document, but continue to look for efficient ways to get that done — and to get their co-workers, bosses, underlings, and others to participate.
Enjoy!
