SA Days, Day 1.5

This is the third part of a four-part series; the first two parts are here and here.

This morning, I took a “broad-spectrum analysis” of communication for IT with Jesse Trucks, who deserves major kudos since he’s quite literally 25% of the instructors here. It was certainly broad-spectrum, but, luckily, Jesse guzzles coffee and talks a million miles an hour, so he managed to stuff our brains full of stuff in the three hours he was given.

We had a great chat over lunch with some of the SysAdmin days planners about things that went well and some that could have been done better. If you attended SA Days and have suggestions or congratulations, be sure to let someone know; if you didn’t attend SA Days but still have ideas — or reasons you didn’t attend — I know the planners want to hear it. Good people to holler at would be Stephen Potter, David Parter, or Sam Albrecht, or just hop on #lopsa.

This afternoon is “Writing IT Policies” with Parter and Moose. Stay tuned for my last update later tonight, when I’ll review my last session, our non-free dinner, and the event as a whole.
