Finally using new distributions

I’m using VMware Workstation 4.5.2 on Windows.

My original plan had been to switch over to Linux and use Windows in a VM, which I would prefer. Wake Forest University provides many packages on their Windows “standard load,” however–tools I don’t want to lose. And it is useful to be able to debug in a native Windows environment.

My solution is to treat VMware more as a testbed than as a production desktop. I therefore use more than one VM: I’ve struggled, but I have VMs for Fedora Core 3, OpenBSD 3.6, and SuSE 9.1. I think Slackware will be next. I might try to get Windows 3.11 or something to come up… if that is even possible.
